From six weeks

The Infant room

Cribs along one wall, a rocking chair by the window and a soft mat on the floor. Babies are held, read to and fed on their own rhythm.

A baby's first weeks away from home are hard on parents, too. So each family has a lead teacher who writes down every feed and every nap, and hands you the note at pickup.

  • Six weeks to about eighteen months

  • A lead teacher for your family

  • A note at every pickup

How it works

Sleep, feeding and play, in plain words

  • Sleep

Babies sleep on their backs, each in their own crib, with nothing else in the crib. A teacher stays in the room, and you hear how the nap went.

  • Feeding

A teacher holds every bottle. You bring bottles or breast milk labeled with your baby's name, or tell us which formula to prepare, and each feed is written down.

  • Tummy time

Floor play on the mat every morning, with a teacher beside the baby, and a soft book when it is time for a rest.

  • Getting started

Before the first day, you and your baby visit the room twice, so a teacher knows how your baby likes to be held.

Questions about the Infant room

What is sleep like here?

Babies sleep on their backs, each in their own crib, with nothing else in the crib. A teacher stays in the room.

What do babies eat, and how do we tell you?

You bring bottles or breast milk labeled with your baby's name, or tell us which formula to prepare. A teacher holds each bottle and writes down the feed, and you read the note at pickup.

Can I visit before my baby starts?

Yes. Before the first day, you and your baby visit the room twice, for as long as you like.

When does my baby move to the Toddler room?

When they are walking steadily and ready, with a teacher they already know. We talk it through with you first.
